A great and very rare, antique edition of Aeschines in Ctesiphontem: The Oration Of Aeschines Against Ctesiphon. Translated With Introductions, By John Edgar M.A., Classical Master In The Royal High School, Edinburgh, and Formerly Snell Exhibitioner, Balliol College, Oxford
First edition published in 1886 by James Thin, Edinburgh
Bound in a dark blue coloured cloth with a faded gilt title to spine. White end papers with pen inscription, dark top stain to page edges. Text pages remain very bright and largely clear, with some light foxing and age wear throughout cheapest.
Some wear and rubbing around edges and corners of binding, bumping to spine and corners, and some markings to boards. Sections of wear to internal and external hinge with back board, but the board remains firmly attached. A few dents, fold and smudges to pages. Some wear to internal page joints and a little pulled at the spine, but otherwise in good antique condition. This scarce book is studied in University courses but the original is hard to find!
